Shaune’s interest in SPECIAL EFFECTS started when he was 13 years old and he saw An American Werewolf In London. Monsters was what he wanted to create…After years of making rubber monsters in his bedroom and experimenting with making 8mm films of his creations, he finally started in the film industry in 1988 at the age of 20 working in the field of Special Make-up Effects.
Shaune continues to make Creatures and Prosthetic Make-ups and has been a key member on some of the top grossing films in the world, films such as: HARRY POTTER 1 - 8, STAR WARS episodes 1 & 2, STARDUST, SUNSHINE, SLEEPY HOLLOW, THE MUMMY, THE FIFTH ELEMENT, THE DaVINCI CODE, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER, WORLD WAR Z and most recently the Irish horror/comedy GRABBERS to name a few. Whilst working on HELLRAISER 4: BLOODLINE, Shaune got the opportunity to direct some of the special effects sequences and also got to direct Johnny Depp for a sequence in SLEEPY HOLLOW.
Over the past couple of years, Shaune has decided to move into directing and has so far made four short films, THE GRAVE , SKELETON CREW, UNINVITED & most recently RED LIGHT starring Axelle Carolyn which was completed in September 2008.
RED LIGHT was shown at the Short Film Corner at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. It had an Official Selection at both the New York and Los Angeles Short Film Festivals 2009
The SKELETON CREW recently won awards at the New York Short Film Festival for Art Direction, Strasbourg Film Festival for Best Screenplay, San Francisco Short Film Festival for Best Cinematography & the Bruxelles Short Film Festival for Best Editing.
It was also Officially Selected for the Paris Short Film Festival and the Los Angeles Short Film Festival. In October 2006, the SKELETON CREW was nominated for the SAE Award for Best Digital Short Film at the Raindance Film Festival.
The UNINVITED was selected for the Short Film Corner at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival. Rachel Sheridan won Best Actress at the Barcelona Film Festival. It was also Awarded Special Mention's at the Strasbourg Film Festival & the Los Angeles Short Film Festival & an Official Selection at the New York Short Film festival & the Chicago Short Film festival 2008.
Shaune supervising the Creature Effects for Rob Green's new film, GLADIATORS V WEREWOLVES: EDGE OF EMPIRE which Shaune will Direct all the Special Creature Effects sequences.
Shaune has completed his new script DECAY for FAIRBANKS PRODUCTIONS which will go into production in 2012. Shaune is both writer & director.
